Wallets and USDC
Wallets
Parchment works with Sui wallets that support the Wallet Standard, including browser extensions and the Slush web wallet. Use Connect in the app header and pick yours. Continue with Google creates or opens a Slush web wallet with your Google account, in a popup.
You can also create a Parchment wallet right in the app.
Your wallet holds your account key (AccountCap) and signs deposits, withdrawals and account changes. Trades can also be signed by a one-click session key, which cannot withdraw.
Parchment wallet
Create a wallet here in the connect dialog makes a self-custodial Sui wallet that lives in your browser. Nothing to install, and only you hold the key. Parchment cannot recover it for you.
Choose how to set it up:
| Option | How it works |
|---|---|
| Passkey | Face ID, Touch ID or your device PIN. Nothing to write down. The passkey syncs with your Apple, Google or password-manager account, and works on parchment.trade. |
| Recovery phrase | 12 words you write down, plus a password (or a passkey) to unlock the wallet in this browser. The phrase works in any Sui wallet. |
You can also Import a wallet from a 12- or 24-word recovery phrase or an Ed25519 private key (suiprivkey1…), or Recover a passkey wallet you created before.
- Back up first. A recovery-phrase wallet asks you to confirm your phrase before it shows your address or lets you add funds.
- Signing. Actions you take in Parchment, such as trades, deposits and claims, sign right away with no wallet pop-up. Withdrawals, sends and account transfers always ask for your password (or your passkey). To review every signature first, turn on Ask before signing in Your wallet. It is off by default.
- Auto-lock is Never by default. You can set it to lock after 5 or 15 minutes, or 1 or 4 hours, without activity, or use Lock now.
- Several wallets. Add wallet keeps another wallet next to the first one. You can rename them and switch between them.
- Your wallet also has Receive, Send (on Sui), and export of your recovery phrase or private key.
- Removing a wallet from this browser does not touch your funds on Sui. You need your recovery phrase, private key or passkey to use it again.
USDC on Sui
USDC is Parchment's only collateral. It must be native USDC on Sui, with this coin type:
0xdba34672e30cb065b1f93e3ab55318768fd6fef66c15942c9f7cb846e2f900e7::usdc::USDCYou can withdraw USDC to your Sui address from an exchange that supports USDC on the Sui network, or swap for it on Sui. Check the network before you send: USDC sent on another chain does not arrive in a Sui wallet.
To bring funds from Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche or Solana, use Deposit from: Another chain in the app, which bridges with Mayan. See Deposit from another chain.
SUI for gas
Keep a small amount of SUI in your wallet. You pay network gas for creating your account, deposits, withdrawals, turning one-click trading or TP/SL on or off, staking and claims, and any trade your wallet signs itself. One-click trades can be sponsored. A deposit bridged from another chain can top your wallet up to 0.1 SUI.
