Getting started
1. Connect a wallet
Open parchment.trade and press Connect. Connecting means you agree to the Terms. You can:
- Create a wallet here: a Parchment wallet, kept in your browser, with a passkey or a password and recovery phrase. Nothing to install.
- Continue with Google: creates or opens a Slush web wallet with your Google account.
- Connect a wallet you already have: a browser extension or another Sui wallet. See Wallets and USDC.
Nothing moves until you approve it in your wallet or, with one-click trading on, until your browser's session key signs a trade. That key cannot withdraw.
You need:
- USDC on Sui to trade. USDC is the only collateral. You can also bring it from another chain: see Deposit from another chain.
- A little SUI for network gas. You pay gas when you deposit, withdraw, or send an order request from your wallet. One-click trades can be sponsored. See Gas sponsorship.
See Wallets and USDC for how to get both.
2. Create your account
The first time you trade, the order button reads Set up account. It opens Set up trading, which creates your Parchment trading account on chain and sends an account key (an AccountCap) to your wallet. Keep it: deposits, withdrawals and trade requests use it.
It is one wallet approval, which can also make your first deposit and turn on one-click trading and TP/SL access. Keep about 0.03 SUI in your wallet for the setup's network fees.
You only do this once.
3. Deposit USDC
Use Deposit in the header. The USDC moves from your wallet into your account's free balance, which is what you trade from. The minimum deposit is 1 USDC.
Pay with lets you deposit another coin from your Sui wallet instead: it is swapped to USDC through the Aftermath router and deposited in the same transaction.
You can also pay for an order partly from your wallet. Set Pay from to Account + Wallet in Settings, then Trading: an order then tops up from your wallet when the account is short, in the same transaction.
Deposit from another chain
Deposit from: Another chain (in Deposit, and in Set up trading) bridges from Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche or Solana to your Sui wallet with Mayan, a third-party bridge. It takes two steps:
- Bridge. Pick the chain and the token, and confirm in that chain's wallet. USDC and other tokens are accepted; anything that isn't USDC is swapped to USDC on the way. The app tracks the bridge until it arrives in your Sui wallet.
- Deposit. One Sui signature deposits the USDC that arrived. If you have no Parchment account yet, that one signature sets up your account and deposits it. You can also keep the USDC in your wallet and deposit it later.
If your Sui wallet holds less than 0.1 SUI, the bridge can also top it up to 0.1 SUI for network fees (on by default in that case). Bridge fees are shown with the quote before you confirm. If a bridge can't complete, Mayan refunds it to the wallet you sent from.
4. Withdraw
Use Withdraw in the header to move free balance back to your wallet. Only the account owner can withdraw. Receive as lets you swap the USDC to another coin through the Aftermath router in the same transaction.
Withdraw to: Another chain sends USDC from your account straight to an address on one of the chains above, with Mayan. Withdrawals to other chains are paid out in USDC only. It is one approval in your Sui wallet.
Your free balance is where everything lands: profits, returned margin, refunds, and referral or builder earnings. Nothing is sent to your wallet until you withdraw.
5. Transfer your account
Transfer account in Settings moves this account, its balance and open positions to another wallet.
| Moves | Stays with this wallet |
|---|---|
| Your balance, open positions and queued payouts | Your XP, level, crates, quests and cosmetics |
| The referrer you signed up with | PARCH already minted to you, locked or not |
| Staking, and the builder codes you own | |
| Rewards from wallets you referred, and your trade history |
One-click trading and TP/SL access are switched off. The new owner turns them on again.
